Exiled Leader Fights For Xinjang.

THINKING OUT LOUD

A couple of years ago I had set up a wifi system around my house but it was down, I am thinking of making another one and I am going to name it "wifi republic".

I am going to re-organize my blogs too, now I am testing some templates, trying and testing them at this stage. I am trying to fully utilized the latest blogspot editor. Not doubt that they are better with many needs that are taken care of. However the new blogspot editor lack fluidity where we can used different blog templates for different categories of posts or entries.

However I had thought of this new format. Try
anak matlesen to see the new format. The present PERWI is slightly messy as I had attempted to master the new blogspot editor. I think by doing that I had taken extra "memories".

I am still in the learning curve and I may not proceed with the present idea for I have to evaluate either to follow the existing system that blogspot new editor provide or do the necessary such as amending the html on the free template that I had obtained satisfactorily to get a system that I want.

Xinijang. Exiled Leader - Rebiya Kadeer,

Police and other security forces in China are trying to maintain peace in northwestern Xinjiang province following an outbreak earlier this month of some of the worst ethnic violence in the country in decades. Chinese authorities blame exiled Uighurs for fomenting the unrest, in particular an exiled Uighur political activist who now lives in the Washington, DC area. VOA's Chris Simkins has this profile of Rebiya Kadeer, who has gained new prominence in the wake of the disturbances. more >>

We are NOT Uighurs - when Chinese were beating MUSLIMS.

The early July riots in Urumqi, the capital of Xinjiang province in China's Far West, opposing turcophone Uighurs and Han Chinese, have been spun by Beijing as yet another "foreign interference" conspiracy organized by the Uighur diaspora in exile.

Pepe Escobar argues it's more complicated than that. All the trouble stems from the official Chinese policy of population transfer - enticing millions of Han Chinese to move to the Far West where they find limitless opportunities not available to the local population. And then there's the key strategic importance of Xinjiang province - immensely rich in natural resources.

China's spin plus heavy handed repression has been met by thundering silence all across the "international community". What a difference from the recent turmoil in Iran. more >>

Native American Genocide and the New World Order - a viewpoint..

"I am a red man.
If the Great Spirit had
desired me to be a white man
he would have made me so in the first place.
He put in your heart certain wishes & plans,
in my heart he put other & different desires.
Each man is good in his sight.
It is not necessary for Eagles to be Crows.
We are poor . . . but we are free.
No white man controls our footsteps.
If we must die we die defending our rights."

Vision 2020…not bloody likely!

Ask the kids working at McDonald how much they were being paid per hour? RM3.00 per hour x 8 hours = RM24 per day. Working 25 days a month means they get RM600 per month.

In Australia my daughter works part-time during her University days at Gloria Jeans Coffee. She is paid Aud$14.00 per hour x 8 hours a day =Aud$112 a day x 25 days = Aud$2,800 per month.
(@ RM2.92 per = One Aud Dollar x Aud$2800 = RM8176 per month).

My daughter earns 13.6 times more that the girl at McDonalds in Malaysia.

Our Government lays claim to the fact that Malaysia will be a developed country 2020? A high income country? Let us look further. more>>

How to Profit from the “Big Mac” Index

Ever since 1986, the Economist has published its famed Big Mac Index -- an informal way of measuring the purchasing power parity (PPP) between two currencies. Its purpose is to make complex exchange-rate theory as digestible as... well... a Big Mac.

The theory of purchasing power parity says that a dollar should buy the same amount in all countries. Thus, in the long run, the exchange rate between two countries should move towards the rate that equalizes the prices of an identical basket of goods and services in each country.

By looking at a McDonald's Big Mac -- a good that is produced in about 120 countries -- the Economist's tongue-in-cheek index illustrates how market exchange rates can result in identical goods having different prices in different countries. By comparing the cost of Big Macs across countries, the Big Mac Index calculates the Big Mac PPP -- the exchange rate that would mean hamburgers cost the same in the U.S. as abroad. Compare the Big Mac PPP to the market exchange rates, and voilĂ !... you see which currencies are under or over valued. more>>

Big Mac index.

The Currency Line Up Today

For all its weaknesses, the Big Mac Index has caught on even among economists as a shorthanded way of looking at PPP (Purchasing Power Parity)across the world's economies. The table below -- reproduced from the Economist -- shows by how much, in Big Mac PPP terms, selected currencies were over- or undervalued at the end of January.

How many minutes to earn the price of a Big Mac?

THE size of your pay packet may be important, but so is its purchasing power. Helpfully, a UBS report published this week offers a handy guide to how long it takes a worker on the average net wage to earn the price of a Big Mac in 73 cities. Fast-food junkies are best off in Chicago, Toronto and Tokyo, where it takes a mere 12 minutes at work to afford a Big Mac. By contrast, employees must toil for over two hours to earn enough for a burger fix in Mexico City, Jakarta and Nairobi. more >>
