THINKING OUT LOUD

A couple of years ago I had set up a wifi system around my house but it was down, I am thinking of making another one and I am going to name it "wifi republic".

I am going to re-organize my blogs too, now I am testing some templates, trying and testing them at this stage. I am trying to fully utilized the latest blogspot editor. Not doubt that they are better with many needs that are taken care of. However the new blogspot editor lack fluidity where we can used different blog templates for different categories of posts or entries.

However I had thought of this new format. Try
anak matlesen to see the new format. The present PERWI is slightly messy as I had attempted to master the new blogspot editor. I think by doing that I had taken extra "memories".

I am still in the learning curve and I may not proceed with the present idea for I have to evaluate either to follow the existing system that blogspot new editor provide or do the necessary such as amending the html on the free template that I had obtained satisfactorily to get a system that I want.

Israel seized the Golan Heights in the 1967 Middle East war and annexed the Syrian territory in 1981, a move never recognized by the international community.[more]

From Umno : a voice of dissent over Perak fiasco

An Umno leader, who is a former state assemblyman in the prime minister’s Pekan constituency, has described the chaotic events in Perak yesterday as a shameful coup d’etat which could end in failure for the Barisan Nasional (BN).

Datuk Mohd Ariff Sabri Abdul Aziz, who was Pulau Manis state assemblyman in Pahang until 2008, said yesterday’s events may well tighten the noose around BN.

The former Umno lawmaker made the remarks in a posting on his Sakmongkol AK47 blog today.

Besides Mohd Ariff, veteran Umno leader Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah had also lamented recently that the Perak power grab had reduced Perak into a failed state.[more]

RPK : Was Siva merely collateral damage?

After I wrote my last article in No Holds Barred (It’s all about race, stupid!), I went to sleep -- after staying awake for almost 24 hours.

I admit that my
No Holds Barred article was very fiery, practically calling for blood. I make no apologies for that but I suppose sleep depravation does that to you; it makes you lash out.

Nevertheless, I maintain my stand that what they did to Siva -- dragging him out of the State Assembly like a sack of potatoes and unceremoniously evicting him -- was downright uncivilised and utterly inexcusable.

After five hours of a good sleep, and with a clearer mind because of it, I have had time to reflect on what happened in Ipoh yesterday. As I said, I make no apologies for what I wrote earlier and have not changed my views. But what I have since been able to do is to analyse what the thinking of the Pakatan Rakyat leaders could have been and why they ‘abandoned’ Siva to his fate.[more]

Why Sedition Act is the new ISA

The recent spate of arrests made under the Sedition Act has led opposition leaders and lawyers to unanimously conclude that the government might have found a better tool than the Internal Security Act (ISA) to quell dissent.

The continued use of the ISA, condemned locally and internationally, does not appear to be politically tenable. This week, a number of activists and opposition party leaders were detained under the Sedition Act.

Many Barisan Nasional (BN) component party leaders have also joined their Pakatan Rakyat (PR) counterparts in calling for the government to abolish the British-inherited law. Umno is the only party that believes that the unpopular law should be maintained.[ more ]

RPK It’s all about race, stupid!

Oh, I forgot, I am talking about what happened in Ipoh today. And what happened in Ipoh is about race. It is about ensuring that the Malays do not lose political power. And, as far as Perak is concerned, as far as Umno is concerned, Perak has fallen into the hands of the Chinese.

Did DAP not win the most number of seats in Perak? And is not DAP a Cina-Kominis party that wishes to see the end of Ketuanan Melayu and the New Economic Policy and wishes to replace it with Meritocracy and a Malaysian-Malaysia? And is this not what Lee Kuan Yew also propagates for Singapore? And is not Singapore persecuting and discriminating against Malays? Are not Malays serving in the Singapore Armed Forces not allowed to even carry guns because the Chinese do not trust them? And is not Singapore the enemy of Malaysia who is illegally occupying Malay land that the British robbed from the Johor Sultanate?[more]

Missile data found on hard drives

Sensitive information for shooting down intercontinental missiles as well as bank details and NHS records was found on old computers, researchers say.

Of 300 hard disks bought randomly at computer fairs and an online auction site, 34% still held personal data.

Researchers from BT and the University of Glamorgan bought disks from the UK, America, Germany, France and Australia.

The information was enough to expose individuals and firms to fraud and identity theft, said the researchers.

Professor Andrew Blyth said: "It's not rocket science - we used standard tools to analyse the data".[bbc news]

Standing on ceremony

THE Perak state assembly will sit tomorrow. Hugely anticipated, the sitting is expected to end the acrimonious political and constitutional impasse in the state. Or conversely, it could make the situation worse. Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Rakyat realise what is at stake and are not likely to give in without a fight. As it is, Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir will be tabling a motion to remove Pakatan Rakyat's V. Sivakumar as speaker. The BN has gone even further by nominating former Sungkai assemblyman Datuk R. Ganesan of the MIC as the new speaker. What is ironic about this is that Sivakumar must first give his go-ahead before the motion to remove him can be admitted. Thus, the motion will likely be rejected and the sitting adjourned sine die.[more]

The constitution, not the Sultan, dismissed Nizar, Zambry’s lawyer argues

This question was at the heart of today’s submissions in the High Court here in a suit brought by Pakatan Rakyat’s (PR) Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin against Datuk Seri Zambry Abd Kadir to be declared the rightful Perak MB instead of the Barisan Nasional (BN) man.

Zambry’s chief counsel Datuk Cecil Abraham entered uncharted waters by arguing that Nizar had been sacked not by the Perak sultan, but by the State Constitution.

He contended that Nizar’s resignation was automatic once he had lost the confidence of the majority, which had been decided when 31 state assemblymen out of the total 59 appeared before the Perak sultan at an audience in Istana Kinta on February 5 to back BN.[more]
