THINKING OUT LOUD

A couple of years ago I had set up a wifi system around my house but it was down, I am thinking of making another one and I am going to name it "wifi republic".

I am going to re-organize my blogs too, now I am testing some templates, trying and testing them at this stage. I am trying to fully utilized the latest blogspot editor. Not doubt that they are better with many needs that are taken care of. However the new blogspot editor lack fluidity where we can used different blog templates for different categories of posts or entries.

However I had thought of this new format. Try
anak matlesen to see the new format. The present PERWI is slightly messy as I had attempted to master the new blogspot editor. I think by doing that I had taken extra "memories".

I am still in the learning curve and I may not proceed with the present idea for I have to evaluate either to follow the existing system that blogspot new editor provide or do the necessary such as amending the html on the free template that I had obtained satisfactorily to get a system that I want.

A blogger Says: The Mystery of our Vanishing Oil Money?

Firstly, since Pak Lah took the helm, Petronas has contributed RM 146.5 billion to the government. Petronas has been in operation since 1974 and contributed a total of RM 336 billion to the government. Pak Lah's first 4 years in office received 43.6% of Petronas' 35 years of total contributions. It is more than what Mahathir received in 20 years, inflation adjusted. And it does not even include this year's contributions!

I am shocked beyond words by what I discovered today. The level of corruption and mismanagement by the Barisan Nasional government is much much worst than my wildest imagination. I am so sick and disgusted that I just want to cast the whole Barisan Nasional government to hell right away. Right now I will not hesitate for a moment to lend my support to Pakatan Rakyat to step in to take over the government.

Do I believe that Anwar is able to bring down the price of petrol and give Sabah and Sarawak 20% oil royalty? I have no doubt that he can, if he manages to gain back the control of the oil money. I do not agree with his oil policy, but at least with Pakatan Rakyat there is hope that ordinary people like us are able to participate to bring about the right changes. . . read more

RPK's BOMBSHELL -

Is this statutory declaration true?

SD has been defined as “A statutory declaration is a legal document defined under the law of certain Commonwealth nations. It is similar to a statement made under oath, however, it is not sworn.

Statutory declarations are commonly used to allow a person to affirm something to be true for the purposes of satisfying some legal requirement or regulation when no other evidence is available. They are thus similar to affidavits (which are made on oath).”

- Politica

another man-made calamity

A mysterious ailment of honeybees threatens a trillion-dollar industry and an essential source of nutrition.

The threat is vast. Most crops—87 of the world's 115 most important ones—require pollination to develop fruits, nuts and seeds, says agroecologist Alexandra-Maria Klein at Germany's University of Göttingen. Those crops account for about $1 trillion of the approximately $3 trillion in annual sales of agricultural produce worldwide.

The most expensive party election in Umno's history

From RPK's Blog: excerpts

In the meantime, Anwar is going to court to get his September 1998 sacking as Deputy Prime Minister declared illegal and a violation of the Federal Constitution of Malaysia. If he succeeds then Abdullah has to reinstate him as Malaysia’s Deputy Prime Minister, by order of the court. But Malaysia already has a Deputy Prime Minister who goes by the name of Najib Tun Razak. Yes, but if Najib is forced to resign because of his wife’s implication in the Altantuya murder, and if it can be proven that his office is involved, then Najib is dead meat and there will be a vacancy for the post of Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia. And Raja Petra Kamarudin’s sedition trial in October may be that playground to prove this -- unless they get cold feet and either drop the charges or delay the trial until next year.

Daim, however, does not want Abdullah to retire just yet. He needs Abdullah around until at least 2010 because it will take him two years to slowly bring back RM3 billion in cash. Yes, more than ten years ago, RM3 billion in RM500 and RM1,000 notes were smuggled out to Indonesia. When Tun Dr Mahathir found out he discontinued the usage of RM500 and RM1,000 notes. So the money is now stuck. The notes can, of course, be brought back, but they can’t be used in the open market. Instead, you have to send them to Bank Negara to be changed into smaller notes. . . read more

Warlords Next Door?

Dispatches reveals how key politicians at the heart of the vicious fighting in Somalia - described as the world's worst humanitarian crisis - enjoy incredibly close links to Britain. They have British or EU passports, their families live here and they commute between Somalia and homes in English cities. British taxpayers are financing them in the name of democracy - yet in Somalia they are linked to allegations of mass murder, torture, extortion and corruption.

New ground rules in Iraq?

Maliki's conditions seem to be unacceptable. The U.S. cannot conduct battle operations under excessively restrictive ground rules. Some of those restrictions might be acceptable if the U.S. were in a minor and subsidiary role to Iraqi forces, if it were not hunting Al Qaeda and other terrorists in the country, if the country were not at war.

The military and political news from Iraq has been good lately, good enough to believe that the U.S. can continue to draw down troops in the months ahead. But if Iraq insists on untenable conditions in these talks, the U.S. will have to hasten its departure. . . more

Is Europe ready for life after Bush?

I count no fewer than six multifaceted top tier issues that require urgent and sustained attention as Bush arrives in London today: Iraq and the broader Middle East; climate change and energy geo-politics; trade, debt, and systemic poverty; Afghanistan, Pakistan, and international terrorism; the rise of Asian powers China, Russia, and India; and, Iran and nuclear proliferation – and that list does not even include other pressing crises such as Darfur or Guantánamo. Yet before we can even begin to address these problems, the threshold challenge for the new administration will be to rejuvenate the transatlantic alliance. . . more
